manufactured between 1852-4, with octagonal 5in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'E. WHITNEY N. HAVEN CT.', bead fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, solid brass frame with traces of silver plated finish, iron five-shot cylinder with front locking notches, iron trigger guard bow with additional auxiliary trigger mounted forwards of the front of guard to release the cylinder for indexing, central hammer (repaired), smooth flared walnut grips (chipping to heel and lower edges), exposed iron surfaces fine pitted and frosted
