HEPPLESTONE 12-BORE THOMAS 1871 'RECTANGULAR WEDGE BOLT' TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 5520, circa 1872, 30in. black powder only damascus barrels (pitted and dented), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, Thomas patent snap-action, patent no. 3091 of 15th November 1871, toplever engraved 'WEDGE BOLT 3091', non-rebounding locks, border and partial scroll engraving, brushed finish, 15 5/8in. stock with steel buttplate, weight 7lb. 2oz.
