probably Belgian manufactured circa 1845, with darkly stained round iron 40 1/2in. barrel, boat-shaped fore-sight to the twin-banded iron nose-cap, standing notch rear-sight at breech, plain bevel-edged military-style locks of flint form stamped in large letters 'H.B.M.' (Hamburger Burgermilitar), walnut full-stock, the left side of butt at heel stamped 'B.A.T' over '502' in the wood, iron furniture and iron under-barrel ramrod
