A .32-20 (CONVERTED) FIELD'S 1883 PATENT TOPLEVER HAMMERLESS ROOK RIFLE, serial no. 5720,
circa 1890, 25 3/4in. octagonal nitro barrel, lined to 32-20 from a rook calibre in 2000, file cut top flat, open sights and two folding leaf sighs, white metal-inlaid sight lines and marked for 50, 100 and 150 yards, bead fore-sight, the left side marked 'BLISSETT & SONS. LIVERPOOL, NO. 5720', W. Field patent action, patent No. 2646 of 28th May 1883, manual side lever safety, border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 5/8in. figured pistolgrip stock (well-executed insert repairs at hand) with fluted horn pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels and horn buttplate, the fore-end with Anson push rod release and fluted horn finial, weight 5lb. 11oz.
