A TURKISH MODEL 1909 INFANTRY OFFICER'S SABRE WITH EARLIER BLADE, early 20th Century, with 33 in. slightly curved single-edged steel blade fullered on each side, deep and clear etched with scroll-work, stands of arms and Turkish star and crescent moon, back with leaf design, brass hilt, cross-guards with langets, one with raised star and crescent moon, stirrup guard and eared back, wire-bound fish-skin covered wooden grip, worn, blade with some staining, fish-skin almost entirely absent from grip, wire binding loose and wood split, no scabbard, appears to be a marriage of a M1909 hilt and an earlier blade
