circa 1910, 26 1/8in. nitro reproved Whitworth-steel barrels (in 2026), the rib engraved 'PETER SMALL. 28 PILGRIM ST. NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE (SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S COMPRESSED FLUID STEEL)' 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and full choke, treble-grip action, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, best bold acanthus scroll engraving with ornate bordering, the sides with central scrolling banners engraved 'PETER SMALL', 15 5/8in. semi-pistolgrip stock including 1 1/4in. wooden extension, the fore-end wood carved to the fore with a bolstered grip feature, weight 6lb. 6oz.
