circa 1914, with round tapering 25 1/4in. barrel signed 'MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO LTD ENGLAND' over 'CARTRIDGE .300 LONG', the right side of barrel further marked 'EXTRA LONG' and the top forwards of the rear-sight 'SUPERIOR NICKEL STEEL', tunnel fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, border engraved slab-sided receiver with the BSA 'Piled Arms' trademark on the left side and the nocksform, dropping feed-ramp and cocking indicator, provision for a peep-sight (absent), chequered walnut butt-stock and fore-end, iron heel-plate and horn fore-end tip, fair traces of finish
