A 14mm PERCUSSION DOUBLE RIFLE SIGNED GREIS, MUNCHEN, no visible serial number,
circa 1855, with side by side 21in. barrels rifled in seven grooves and signed on the raised flat top-rib in silver 'GREIS IN MUNCHEN', provision for a dovetailed fore-sight (sight absent), standing notch rear-sight with additional folding leaf, rib end at breech and top-tang with loose foliate engraving, moulded nipple bosses and side-bolsters, bar-action borderline and foliate engraved locks with traces of colour and moulded tulip-mouthed hammers, chequered walnut half-stock with raised cheek-piece, patch-box with chequered sliding lid and iron heel-plate, carved and moulded walnut trigger guard bow, set trigger for right barrel (currently not setting), iron ramrod throat and mahogany under-barrel ramrod
