circa 1863, with rebrowned ovoid 24 1/4in. flat-topped barrel, the area behind rear-sight signed 'G.H. DAW, TELEGRAPH STATION, THREADNEEDLE ST.T LONDON' (rubbed), dove-tailed fore-sight, flip-up ladder rear-sight, squared breech with moulded snail (traces of colour), platinum plug, borderline and fully scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved radiused lock and hammer signed on the bar 'G.H. DAW', highly figured chequered walnut straight hand stock with engraved iron furniture including hinged patchbox to the right side of butt and raised and chequered finger-spur to the lower tang, brass tipped mahogany ramrod and crested escutcheon to upper wrist
