A 14-BORE NEEDLEFIRE 1852 PATENT BREECH-LOADING DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN, serial no. 912,
circa 1868, with 27in. damascus barrels, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH NEEDHAM & CO. 26. PICCADILLY. LONDON.', built to patent no. 184 of 1852, use number 912, the breech ends with scroll engraved independent side-opening bolts signed 'J. NEEDHAM'S No. 912 PATENT'', each with individual safety levers and engraved 'BOLTED' detail, (retaining needles), border engraved breech apertures, chequered walnut half-stock with iron furniture and white metal escutcheon to underside of fore-end, small losses to fore-end wood and small extension in wood to butt, shallow pitting to iron surfaces
