AGNEW. MAKER. WELSHPOOL. NO. 980' the breech end and tubes engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl., single-bite rotating bolt snap action, patent no. 2139 of 29th August 1863, with triggerguard mounted push forward lever, use number 980, carved serpentine fences, bar action locks with non-rebounding hammers, border and acanthus scroll engraving, patinated finish, 14 1/8in. stock with steel heel and toe plates, missing its fore-end
