circa 1816, with 27 3/4in. rebrowned octagonal to sixteen-sided to round barrel, moulded band at the intersection, the top-flat signed 'JOSEPH EGG No.1 PICCADILLY, LONDON' (rubbed), gold bordered patent breech signed in gilt 'J. EGG' and serial numbered in large numerals to the underside, 'W.F.' barrel maker's mark for William Fullerd, platinum lined touch-hole, flat border and gamescene engraved lock with clipped and stepped tail and signed 'PATENT' and 'JOSEPH EGG' behind and below the isolated rainproof pan, large roller for the frizzen, engraved swan-necked cock, walnut half-stock (chequering removed from wrist), engraved iron furniture and brass mounted mahogany ramrod
