for 1820, originally a roller primer 'scent-bottle' but converted to percussion at a later date, with well rebrowned 30in. octagonal to sixteen-sided to round barrel, moulded band at the intersection, full-length raised concave rib signed 'FORSYTH & CO. 8 LEICESTER ST'T, LEICESTER SQ'RE LONDON' (refreshed), bead fore-sight, platinum vent to the nipple-bolster, borderline and scroll engraved lock inhabited by feathered serpents with inlets and plus blanking off where the original mechanism was, walnut half-stock with iron furniture except for white metal barrel-key escutcheons and fore-end tip, chequered heel-plate, rectangular escutcheon to wrist and brass mounted ebony ramrod
