A14-BORE PINFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN SIGNED BLANCHARD, MAUBERGE, serial no. 515,
circa 1870, with browned laminated 29 3/4in. barrels, unsigned top-rib with bead fore-sight, carved and moulded standing breech with chisel-engraved long top-tang, rounded Lefaucheux-type action chisel-engraved with running vines and scrolls, en-suite back-action locks and hammers, the lockplates signed around the hammer bases 'BLANCHARD FS-A MAUBERGE', the engraving also inhabited by a hunting dog on the left and a fox on the right, highly figured walnut butt-stock with fully chequered wrist (repaired crack at wrist), en-suite engraved iron furniture including forward facing under-lever and captive iron fore-end, much finish and traces of colour
