A .38 (RIMFIRE) COLT 3 1/2in. ROUND BARREL WITHOUT EJECTOR, serial no. 3731,
circa 1876, probably produced from original parts rather than from an 1849 Pocket model, with round 3 1/2in. barrel, no provision for ejector, open frame marked 'PAT JULY 25 1871' over 'PAT JULY 2 1872', five-shot stepped cylinder, brass grip-straps and trigger guard, smooth walnut grip, all matching numbers except for un-numbered wedge, some light pitting
