A PATTERN 1828 SCOTTISH INFANTRY OFFICER'S VICTORIAN BASKET HILT SWORD,
circa late 19th Century, 31 1/2in. double-edged nickelled blade with two narrow fullers on each side, etched with thistles and scroll-work with an empty shield-panel to one side and royal cypher and crown over, ricasso with brass proved plug, regulation dismountable hilt complete with liner and fringe, complete with steel scabbard with two suspension rings, a little lifting to the blade nickel, tarnishing of the guard and wear to the liner, some shallow blinded pitting and grazing to the scabbard
