Product Details

* A CASED .380 (C/F) INCOMPLETE THOMAS-PATENT REVOLVER, serial no. 1077,
circa 1892, with octagonal 4 7/8in. blued barrel rotating and sliding forwards to extract, the left side of barrel marked 'CAST STEEL', crescent fore-sight, solid frame marked 'THOMAS'S PATENT 779' above 'No.1077', wingnut safe, brushed bright hammer and trigger, chequered walnut saw-handled grip with colour hardened heel-cap, the cylinder missing (cylinder rod present) otherwise appearing very little used with just light storage stains, in an oak casing lined and compartmented in blue baize, parchment 'Charles Fisher, Leicester Square, London' trade label inside lid and also containing a brass cleaning rod and nickel oil-bottle

Provenance: The vendor informs us that this revolver was acquired by a family on Jersey when the sound of the guns during World War One were sounding a bit close. Subsequently, during World War Two, the cylinder was removed and hidden to lessen its appeal to the German occupiers. Sadly, at wars end, the cylinder could not be re-located and by all accounts, the revolver was never actually ever fired
