circa 1880 and tubed back to original calibre from .22, with octagonal 27in. barrel, machine engraved top-flat, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, plain action with traces of faded colour and signed on the left side 'W. KAVANAGH & SON, DUBLIN', opening side-lever on the right, central hammer, chequered walnut pistol-grip butt-stock, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with horn tip and guarded trigger
