* A RARE CASED 6.5mm (BERGMANN) WESTLEY RICHARDS RETAILED MODEL 1896 No.3 PISTOL SIGNED V.C. SCHILLING, SUHL, serial no. 2987,
circa 1899, with tapering narrow blued 4 1/2in. barrel, raised block at muzzle with dove-tailed mounted fore-sight blade, later type bolt with extractor and fitted with an integral dust-cover, notch rear-sight and chequered thumb-piece to rear, blued receiver and frame, the frame marked 'PATENT, BREVETE, S.G.D.G' on the left and stamped with the trademark for V.C. Schilling, Gaggenau on the right, sprung trapdoor on the right hand side for clip-loading, exposed hammer, much straw-colour finish on ancillaries, chequered walnut grips and lanyard loop at heel, retaining the majority of its original blued finish and in an English market oak casing, the interior with the majority of its compartmented plyboard liner (felt covering lost), padded satin lid lining with parchment Westley Richards London trade label and retaining its glass oil bottle (contents evaporated), cleaning rod and a tin-plate stripper-clip for same
