circa 1885, with 2 1/2in. blued octagonal, sighted barrel with engraved muzzle, gilded brass frame with blued screws and pins, bordered and engraved with panels of fine scrolls and marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT' blued cylinder and hammer, smooth ivory grip with gilded brass butt-cap, ejector rod concealed in butt, blued and scroll engraved trigger guard, (gilding rubbed but some remaining, together with most original blued finish) TOGETHER WITH a fine figured walnut fitted and compartmented case lined in blue baize with inlaid shield escutcheon to lid
