A RARE, POSSIBLY UNIQUE CASED .455 (CF) SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION SPECIAL ORDER TARGET REVOLVER, MODEL '1896 WG TARGET', frame no. 8038,
circa 1896, with blued 7 1/2in. barrel numbered K8038 and signed 'P WEBLEY & SON LONDON & BIRMINGHAM', adjustable nickel-silver blade fore-sight marked '20 yds' with viewing window, left hand side of top-strap marked 'W.G. TARGET MODEL', fluted cylinder numbered 123, stirrup locking catch with adjustable blade rear-sight, blued frame numbered 8038 under grips, special order 'Bisley' style full pistol grip with chequered walnut grip plates numbered 9123 and lanyard ring (old refinish to front half of frame, the remainder retaining nearly all its original finish and showing minimal use throughout) TOGETHER WITH a 'JOHN RIGBY & CO' leather compartmented case with red baize lining, the lid initialed 'CJM' and containing a number of accessories including the interchangeable fore-sight elements and rear-sight blades for the revolver (the whole in fine condition)
