the majority of the mounts bearing London hallmarks for 1822 and by the silversmith Moses Brent, with 30in. browned octagonal damascus barrel, the top-flat signed 'ALEX.R WILSON SHERRARD STR.T LONDON', with boat-shaped dove-tailed blade fore-sight, the muzzle grooved for fore-sight protector (missing), standing notch rear-sight with three additional folding leaves, patent breech with twin platinum lines, engraved bolster and platinum vent, fully border and scroll engraved top-tang, flat, slightly curved border and scroll engraved lockplate signed 'ALEX.R WILSON SHERRARD STR.T LONDON', pill-lock type hammer with detachable nose, walnut cheek-piece half-stock chequered at the wrist, applied mount for aperture sight to top of wrist (period aperture sight present), inlaid silver patchbox (possible working replacement) to right hand side of butt fitted out for pill-caps, heavy silver butt-plate engraved with borders, stags, mountain vistas and scrolls, heavy silver border and scroll engraved square-backed pillar fronted trigger-guard with applied horn hand-stop to the tang, double set triggers, urn finial, heavy silver ramrod throat, carved silver take-down wedge plates, damascus half under-rib with two thimbles, mounts for sling, the whole retaining a good degree of finish TOGETHER WITH its original brass cornered oak case, lined in green baize, clipped-corner original parchment Alexander Wilson trade label to inside of lid, some original accessories including the heavy duty loading rod, patent powder flask, original square-headed aperture sight, nipple-pot, wad-punch, mould and brushes.
