28in. shortened nitro reproved barrels, rib engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. cylinder choke in both, treble-grip Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 502, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, plain finish with just the makers name engraved in a scrolling banner, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening and with reblued furniture, easily-detachable pistolgrip,14 1/2in. figured stock with large inserts at butt (some movement on closing), the fore-end wood with fluted detail near knuckle, weight 6lb. 1oz., in a canvas and leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed on August 16th 1894 with 30in. barrels for George G. Turnbull
