LONDON BRIDGE.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in all, rounded bar actions with Beesley / Purdey type self-opening systems, removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2' gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled-edge triggerguards, partially gold-washed internals, the actions and furniture profusely engraved with scrolling acanthus, surrounding finely engraved game scenes of grouse and partridge in their naturalistic habitats, the undersides with oval vignettes of partridge and woodcock, the locks, triggerplates and vignettes initialled 'M.S.' the triggerplates also dated '04', bright finish overall, 14 7/8in. very highly-figured stocks with engraved steel heel and toe plates, weight 5lb. 12oz., in their brass-cornered oak and leather case with royal blue baize interior, velveteen protective cloth, full complement of horn steel and brass accessories, marked with the makers name and with a canvas and leather outer cover
