circa 1870, possibly built to a variation of Cooper's Patent, with tapering round 33 1/2in. barrel, flat sighting plane with bead fore-sight, octagonal breech with fenced nipple, lift-up breech with toggle-action loading plunger, borderline engraved bar-action lock with central panel of scroll engraving, en-suite hammer, rounded stepped tail, walnut straight-hand half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate with blind central trap-door, iron borderline and scroll engraved trigger-guard tang and bow, rounded horn fore-end tip
