circa 1830, with browned (faded) 10in. octagonal smooth-bore barrels, the top-flats signed 'LONDON GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY', dove-tailed brass crescent fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the fully scroll engraved top-tangs, border-line and scroll engraved breech-blocks (traces of colour), platinum vents, border and scroll engraved, colour-hardened bar-action locks signed 'H.W. MORTIMER & SONS', sliding safes behind the scroll engraved dolphin-headed hammers, walnut half-stocks with swept 'Purdey-style' chequered pistol-grips, vacant oval silver escutcheons to wrists, flared flat pommels with foliate engraved inlet butt-caps, border and trophy engraved trigger-guard bows (one re-blued) the central sections marked '89 FLEET ST', set-triggers, pineapple finials, silver oval take-down wedge escutcheons, horn fore-end tips and captive stirrup iron under-barrel ramrods, both pistols retaining good amounts of original finish
