converted from muzzle-loading circa 1877-78, with round 8in. barrel signed 'COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. USA', applied fore-sight, plain slightly stepped cylinder with roll-engraved naval scene, applied standing breech with hinged loading gate, plain open frame with '1871' and '1872' patent dates, iron grip-straps, smooth one-piece walnut grips and side-mounted ejector rod to barrel
Other Notes: Only around 2100 of these conversions were produced towards the end of the run of Richards conversions which ran from 1872-78.
