A RARE 18-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN FOR RESTORATION SIGNED JOSEPH MANTON, MODEL 'WOODCOCK' serial no. 10605, for circa 1836, with diminutive 22in. barrels (right hand barrel holed, muzzles frayed), reinforced at breech and stepped down 11 1/2in. from the muzzle, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH MANTON & SON, 6 HOLLES STREET CAVENDISH SQUARE, LONDON' (rubbed), unsigned borderline and scroll engraved locks (one hammer ear broken off and missing), chequered walnut half-stock (broken through at wrist), iron furniture and original ebony ramrod
