circa 1810, with re-browned slightly swamped octagonal 31in. barrel, the top three flats inlaid with panels of silver wire geometric designs and panels of farsi lettering in groups of three within squares of nine panels, the inlay work probably carried out in India, bead fore-sight, replacement rear-sight, platinum line and touch-hole to breech, flat border engraved lock (some shallow pitting) signed 'ALEX WILSON, SHERRARD ST. LONDON', further engraving of scrolls to the tail and sun-rays forwards of the hammer, rain-proof pan, border engraved frizzen with large roller to the frizzen-spring, sliding safe behind the hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate (heavily corroded), raised cheek-piece, iron square-backed trigger-guard, horn fore-end tip, under-barrel rib with plain ramrod thimbles (one re-attached) and brass mounted mahogany ramrod
