A GOOD 3-BORE BREECH-LOADING PUNT-GUN, serial no. P1006,
circa 1890, with blued tapering 89 1/2in. barrel signed '? & W. TOLLEY, MAKERS 1 CONDUIT ST, REGE? ?W' (the remainder obscured by the bands of the sprung mount and the rear-sight), bead fore-sight and blanked dove-tail, raised rectangular block rear-sight with two folding leaves, substantial rectangular breech with horizontally sliding block operating on a lift-up lever, teak tiller half-stock with blued and case-hardened furniture, folding trigger with provision for lanyard release, large mount locking lever to the right hand side of fore-end and heavy-duty spring dampened mount under the barrel with twin eyelets, the whole in a remarkable state of preservation and appearing little used TOGETHER WITH eight re-usable steel cases numbered from 1 through 8 on the base, each case with a floating primer anvil for a large percussion cap, all contained within a tin-lidded wood box
