circa 1860, with micro-groove rifled octagonal re-browned damascus 10in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'C. BARTELS IN WIESBADN', shell and bands engraved to breech, dove-tailed fore-sight, key adjustable notch rear-sight (key missing), top-tang engraved '1', colour-hardened borderline and scroll engraved lock and hammer, walnut half-stock with chequered pistol-grip, flared flat-based ebony pommel with inlaid white-metal clip-cornered escutcheon, single set-trigger, engraved blued iron trigger-guard bow and pineapple finial, no provision for ramrod
