A FINE CASED .31 PERCUSSION FACTORY ENGRAVED FIVE-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL '1849 POCKET', serial no. 107818,
for 1855, with octagonal 6in. barrel retaining much of its original factory blue finish, the breech end signed 'SAML. COLT', with engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraved breech-end, plain cylinder with roll-engraved scene (blued finish faded), open scroll engraved iron frame, silver-plated scroll engraved brass trigger-guard and grip-straps, the back-strap with vacant panel, smooth highly figured walnut one-piece grip and articulated under-barrel loading lever with scroll engraved hinge, COMPLETE WITH its original wood storage case (refinished externally) compartmented in the French style and lined in maroon velvet (faded to brown) and complete with original accessories including a Colt patent 'Eagle' powder flask, an empty carton for six combustible cartridges and an iron ball and bullet mould (reblued)
