28in. nitro barrels, left tube engraved 'AUG. FRANCOTTE A LIEGE', 3in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 choke in both, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fences deply carved in high relief with leaf motifs, the action profusely engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork intertwined with bolder scrolls, the triggerplate signed 'J.M. Smets', retaining virtually full original colour-hardened finish, 15in. well-figured stock, weight 5lb.
