LONDON.', with scroll-engraved open sights and folding leaf sight, bead fore-sight, Dougall 'lockfast' patent action, patent no. 1128 of 7th May 1860, rearward facing push-down sidelever, carved serpentine fences, action face with protruding bosses, top tang with the Prince of Wales plumed feathers crest, non-rebounding back-action locks, one hammer spur broken, missing one nipple and firing pins, bolted hammers and bolted sidelever, best beaded and feathered border engraving, the action flats and barrels marked 'FIRST SPECIAL', the underside with 'J.D. DOUGALL PATENT LOCKFAST, front trigger bent, retaining some original colour-hardening, 14in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes and matted steel buttplate, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 8lb. 11oz., the left hand side of the butt bearing its Weapons Collection plaque and complete with its Weapons Collection identity disc
