circa 1840, with browned 30 1/2in. twist barrels, the top-rib signed 'H.W. MORTIMER, LONDON', bead fore-sight, engraved borderline with twin gold bands at breech, border engraved top-tang (traces of colour), borderline engraved colour-hardened bar action locks signed 'H.W. MORTIMER', borderline engraved hammers (re-coloured to match), chequered walnut half-stock, blued iron furniture and replacement ramrod, much original finish remaining except where noted
