AN 18-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED BIRDING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1810, with two-stage 39in. barrel banded at the intersection, the top-flat signed 'FORSYTH & CO PATENT GUN MAKERS LONDON' (refreshed), silver bead fore-sight, gold band at breech, platinum touch-hole, scroll engraved top-tang, engraved bevel-edged slightly curved stepped tail lockplate signed 'FORSYTH', engraved hammer, rainproof pan, roller frizzen spring, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (broken through and repaired through side nail, large inlet repair to fore-end), iron furniture, white metal oval barrel key escutcheons and nose-cap, replacement ramrod (iron surfaces darkly stained with some cleaning and pitting)
