30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'J. PURDEY. 314 1/2, OXFORD STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, bar-in-wood, carved percussion fences, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining some renewed colour-hardening and finish, 14in. figured stock (refinished), weight 6lb. 9oz., fore-end refinished, in its makers brass-cornered oak and leather case with lift-out tray which reveals a cartridge compartment holding 99 cartridges

Charles de Ligne, Prince de Ligne was born on 17 November 1837 at Brussels, Belgium. He married Charlotte Josephine de Gontaut-Biron, daughter of Etienne Charles de Gontaut-Biron and Marie de Fitzjames, in 1876 at Paris, France. He died on 10 May 1914 at age 76 at Brussels, Belgium.
