Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was ordered in April 1927 with 29in. barrels for S.A. Guest, Esq.

Samuel Austin Guest was a British diplomat in the 1930s to the Hungarian court, and during his service there was awarded the highest honour that can be bestowed on a civilian; the Gold Cross of Merit. Little is known of the gun except that it has spent much of its life sealed in the family's bank vault and this would account for its outstandingly original order. The gun has passed by descent to the vendor who now offers it at auction.
