A SCARCE 140-BORE PRE-CHARGED PNEUMATIC STOCKED MUZZLE-LOADING AIR-CANE, unsigned, no visible serial number,
circa 1890, with 23 1/2in. detachable sighted barrel section, the exterior retaining much of its original black laquer, the internal brass barrel with multi-groove rifling, detachable brass nose-cap with captive mahogany brass-tipped ramrod, the body with aperture for cocking key (present) and concealed automatic trigger, the detachable air-reservoir in the form of a straight-hand shotgun butt fully covered in shagreen (small losses through shrinkage), complete with its original stirrup pump, (foot-plate replaced) a later mould, wad-punch and a spare valve-stem (6)
