AN 18-BORE FLINTLOCK DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1790, with 38in. two-stage sighted barrels with engraved and punched decoration on the octagonal breech-section, right barrel with small stud to the outer side towards the muzzle, silver-lined touch-holes, foliate engraved grooved tang, rounded border engraved locks respectively signed 'BENOET REBORE' and 'ST. ETIENNE' and each with silver-lined pan, figured walnut half-stock with raised cheek-piece, engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with urn finial and butt-plate with sprung trap-cover, iron sling mounts, and iron-capped horn ramrod, St. Etienne proof (right lock tumbler worn (fails to hold on cock), iron parts cleaned with some discolouration and small patches of surface corrosion)
