dated for 1667, probably Southern German with brushed-bright 36 1/4in. swamped micro-rifled octagonal barrel, brass dove-tailed blade fore-sight, large dove-tail for rear-sight (missing), the breech struck with an 'A-H' makers mark within a shield and engraved with a band, plain solid top-tang fixed from beneath, plain polished angular lockplate, framed external wheel, hammer with squared jaws and coiled spur, carved hammer-spring, pan with large flash-guard and automatic cover, walnut full-stock with angular butt, dated behind the top-tang, sliding patch-box to right hand side of butt, horn heel-plate with iron button at heel, lightly carved decoration to the borders, oversized trigger-guard bow with double-set 'hogs-bristle' trigger, moulded ramrod channel, bone front-pipe, horn fore-end tip and bone-tipped ramrod
