ENGLAND.', and '1' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 (No.1) and 1/4 and 3/4 (No.2), No.1 left wall thickness below recommended minimum, toplevers engraved '1' and '2', removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators, best acanthus scroll and floral bouquet engraving, bright and blued finish overall, 15 1/4in. well-figured stocks, weight 6lb. 6oz., in their lightweight double motor case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun No. 26261 was completed in 1953 for Mr J.O. Day. Gun No. 26577 was completed in 1960 to be paired with the number 1 gun.
