circa 1865, with round tapering 33in. twist iron barrel, three short ribs at breech, the top one with engraved needle terminating in a starburst, border and scroll engraved squared breech and top-tang, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'FLETCHER GLOUCESTER', scroll engraved hammer, walnut chequered half-stock, iron furniture including scrolled pistol-grip lower tang, moulded horn fore-end tip with no provision for ramrod; TOGETHER WITH a period auxilliary heavy duty bamboo loading rod signed 'PATON & WALSH', with horn tip and mahogany mushroom pommel
