25in. nitro reproved barrel (in 2015) engraved ALEXR. HENRY & CO. 18 FREDERICK ST. EDINBURGH.', conversion from .303 calibre, later matt sight rib with open sights and two folding leaf sights with white metal inlaid sight lines, ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end mounted with a Carl Zeiss Diasta-D 6x42 telescopic sight in quickly-detachable mounts, with additional quickly-detachable telescopic sight rail, tang mounted adjustable peep sight, standing breech file cut (recent), manual side safety lever, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, horn pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels and including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad
Provenance: In his book 'British Single Shot Rifles Volume 1 - Alexander Henry', Wal Winfer makes reference to the records showing there to be just seven Farquharson actioned rifles produced by Henry. Serial number 7303 is among them, listed in .303 calibre and sold to R.H. Brennan on the 6th July 1903.
This rifle has subsequently had fairly extensive refurbishment carried out on it.
