28in. nitro chopperlump barrels with matt Churchill-rib, the tubes engraved 'E.J. CHURCHILL (GUNMAKERS) LTD. ORANGE ST. GUNWORKS. LEICESTER SQUARE. LONDON', and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, hold-open toplever, the action flat with toplever return stud, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, Smith patent assisted opening system, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, non-selective single-trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, the action, pinless lockplates and furniture finely engraved with bold flowing acanthus, the lockplates with elaborate cartouches engraved 'E.J. CHURCHILL', the underside with a further cartouche engraved 'PREMIERE FINEST QUALITY', the triggerguard gold-inlaid with a monogram 'E.K.Y.', retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and much finish, 14 1/8in. well-figured stock with ornate chequering borders and including a scroll-engraved and colour-hardened skeletal steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 8oz., in its lightweight leather case with gold-tooled leather trade label
