A .36 PERCUSSION SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'U.S. NAVY ISSUE, 2ND MODEL', serial no. 19381,
series 4 circa 1864, with octagonal 7 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'E. WHITNEY NEW HAVEN' together with a 'U.S.' and anchor device marking, bead fore-sight, solid frame with sighting groove to the top-strap, plain cylinder scrubbed of scene (naval markings absent) and initialled 'P' over 'J.R.G.', single action mechanism, brass trigger-guard and smooth flared walnut grips, cleaned of finish with some dark staining and shallow pitting
