A GOOD CASED PAIR OF 32-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS CANNON-BARRELLED TRAVELLING PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
Birmingham hall-marks for 1780, with round turn-off triple-banded 4in. barrels, border and scroll engraved squared central-hammer actions with rounded breeches, London proofs, the left sides of action signed 'KETLAND & CO', trigger-bow safes, walnut butts with swollen pommels mounted with silver grotesque mask caps bearing the maker's mark 'CF' for Charles Frith and large oval border engraved escutcheons to the wrists, together with a mahogany case almost certainly later, lined and compartmented in green velvet and containing an embossed flask, an iron mould a turn-screw and a worm-ended rammer
