A 20-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, serial no. 3025,
circa 1840, with brushed bright Liege proved 30 1/2in. barrels, the broad flat top-rib inlaid with white-metal scrolls for the first two fifths around a bordered panel signed 'RIEGER IN MUNCHEN', further inlaid bands and Greek key designs at breech, scroll engraved long top-tang, scroll engraved bar-action locks with swinging safes and carved and engraved hammers, figured walnut half-stock with complex bordered chequered panels to the fore-end and wrist, raised carved acanthus borders around the top-tang and a carved panel of acanthus foliage behind the raised moulded cheek-piece, smooth wood butt-end with iron heel-cap, carved walnut trigger-guard bow with white-metal screw escutcheons and horn-tipped wood ramrod
