circa 1795, with tapering iron two-stage octagonal to round 13in. barrel engraved with a sabre at breech, moulded girdle at intersection, carved crescentic border at breech, and engraved recumbent crescents at front of flats, the tang with replacement cover mounted with a standing notch rear-sight, plain bevel-edged step-tailed lock of probable European manufacture incorporating a swan-necked cock, moulded pan and bridle, plain frizzens, probable brass full-stocks fully gilded and with relief moulded and carved decoration, engraved borders with nielloed details, spirally fluted bulbous pommel, carved and moulded trigger and trigger guard, false ramrod and gilded metal embossed and engraved long nose-cap with integral shallow boat-shaped fore-sight
