A .177 WESTLEY RICHARDS HIGHEST POSSIBLE AIR-PISTOL, serial no. 1164,
late second series circa 1926, with 9 1/2in. rifled barrel, moulded fore-sight, crescentic adjustable notch rear-sight, chequered hard-rubber grips, air cylinder stamped 'WESTLEY RICHARDS "HIGHEST POSSIBLE" AIR PISTOL' on three lines, frame with maker, patent number and date, guarded trigger blade, the whole retaining traces of original finish in sheltered areas but extensive fine shallow pitting elsewhere
Provenance: This air-pistol is interesting in that its serial number is higher than the rare Highest Possible 'concentric' air-pistols that date from circa 1925, long believed the last air-pistols produced by Westley Richards. It is the highest serial number to be recorded by Holts so far
